The live concert experience for me gets less and less enjoyable each year. The constant talkers are the worst. I've seen people having full-on face to face conversions with each other through the whole show, being completely oblivious that there was an actual concert going on right in front of them. One club show was plagued with so much chit-chatting and disruptions, I was embarassed for our city. Thought the artist would never come back here after that. Surprisingly he came back after about 7 or 8 years.
Isn't it amazing? And when you ask people to be quiet, they get all offended. The reply we got at an Elton John concert: "I bought this ticket and I can talk if I want to." We once went to a Wilco show and the guy next to me -- while super-excited and an absolute fan of the band -- was on the phone during the entire show with his buddy who couldn't be there, describing everything happening on stage. "THIS IS NOT A DRILL. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. WE HAVE "KIDSMOKE."" We retreated to the lawn to get away from the guy.
